Training Update

Back on my new bike! Great new ride from Gears Bike shop, the 2011 Specialized S Works (RED – YES THAT’S IMPORTANT) and man it is fast! Super stiff, I really notice the difference in the middle of climbs when the gradient changes or when trying to lift the pace in the middle of a hard session. You don’t have to expend that massive OOMPH effort to get the bike rolling, instead it just seems to leap forward. That’s normally the hardest part in ITU racing so I’m looking forward to rocking it out next year.

The swim has been moving along nicely after my break, some time in the weight room has left me feeling significantly stronger and I think that was something missing in my training last year. Not that I plan on getting huge or lifting all year round but for a few months I think it will help make a big difference as I’ve always struggled in the opening 200 of the tris.

The run…well she was going awesome, not the best day at OUAs felt pretty terrible out there for the first time in a long while. Hoping that the body is going to be ready to rock at CIS, would love to see the Marauders take off and bring home a big one.
Graham, Cory, Taylor and the boys are looking great and the girls are in the hunt once again for a Championship – can’t wait for Quebec City!
