New Specialized Tarmac Pro SL3
Gears Bike Shop in Mississauga hooked me up with an amazing ride once again this year! Upgrading from last year’s bike, I will now be riding the Tarmac Pro. The bike has same frame as the top of the line SL3 that Andy Schleck and the rest of the Specialized ProTour riders have been on for the last few years.
Partnering the Pro with Specialized Tri shoes, helmet and glasses produces unbeatable ride quality and the fit is so good that I would spend my own money on purchasing this combination were Kevin, Ira, Specialized and the rest of the Gears family not so supportive. In terms of ride quality, this is my fourth specialized bike and I have to say that it is the lightest, stiffest and smoothest one that I’ve had the pleasure of riding. Built up with Dura- Ace, Roval wheels and pedals my 58cm frame is 15.8lbs – GREAT FOR CLIMBING!
The biggest difference I’ve noticed on this bike is its ability to smooth out the rough stuff. No matter how rough the road is, the bike deadens those big hits without sacrificing stiffness making it easier to handle in the corners and making 3 hour rides easy on the body.
With 2000k on it already I’m pretty excited to show it off at the races and keep the Specialized name in the win column as fellow sponsored athletes Paula Findlay and Javier Gomez have been off to a great start.

Thanks Gears, Specialized Canada, Kevin Wallace and Ira Kargel-Kennedy! Also big thanks to Scott Doel for the best bike fit!
